This book is about the designers of the SINGER Model 221/222 Featherweight sewing machines. There were many modifications to those sewing machines over the years. Most of these changes did not require patents and the identity of those designers is probably lost forever. The more important changes usually merited a patent. Lucky for us, the United States Patent Office and the British Patent Office in London keep meticulous records of all patent applications, and allow us to look at those records. Without those records, this book would not be possible.
