I am proud to have come from two Wolgadeutsche (Volga German) families. Our people that lived before us overcame unbelievable obstacles and trials to get us where we are today, from Germany to the Volga Colonies and finally, here to America. Their hard work should be remembered by all that come behind them, but sadly, in the rush of today's life and technology, our children often find something more fun to do than read 'boring history' and never learn about their German Volga Colony heritage. These two new Children's Books are my way of giving our children an interesting way to learn all about our almost unbelievable Wolgadeutsche heritage. |
